WhatsApp Expiring Messages for Group Chats Added
WhatsApp, one of the most popular, most downloaded apps in the world frequently adds new features to attract more users and retain the existing ones. Earlier in October, there was a rumor that WhatsApp is testing a new feature named ‘Disappearing Messages’. However, its function was not clear until recently.
In the latest version of WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.19.275, this feature has been spotted again. Now there is more understanding regarding the purpose of the feature.
This feature is now called ‘Delete Messages’. It lets the users messages expire after a certain amount of time. That time can either be an hour, day, week, month or a year.
Interesting: WhatsApp deleted messages can still be read
WABetaInfo’s findings have revealed that this feature will make sure that the group message conversations don’t take too much storage on smartphones. The feature is only accessible to the group chat’s administrator and the setting will be applicable to all the members of a group chat.
