WhatsApp Introduced New Features

Ever since the introduction of WhatsApp back in the year 2009, the developers are constantly engaged in bringing out some new features for improving the users’ experience. Similarly, the most recent updated version of the app has come with a few significant upgrades to the service.

First and foremost, the most recent version permits the users to listen to the voice messages while using other applications or even when the phone is locked. This improvement to the voice messaging feature, now lets the users to not just stick on to the WhatsApp interface while listening to any audio message.

Additionally, Snapchat and Instagram like features are also added to the Facebook-owned application.

As per reports, users could now tag and send current location and time on any of the picture or video sent to an individual or in some group.

New stickers are also added to the list of upgraded features.

The new updates are, however, available only for the Android users which is sad as many people who use WhatsApp a lot are iOS users.

Another recently introduced feature, which is only available for the iOS users is that the users could see the contacts WhatsApp status updates even without the need to open the application on the “Today View” interface. The widget could be enabled from the notification centre.

One more feature WhatsApp has incorporated in its recent updates is that now it permits users to transfer their account information, settings and groups to a completely new number without even the need for deleting the account. The feature would be providing a notification to all the users’ contacts regarding the user moving to a new number. For using the feature, the user would have to go to the WhatsApp “Settings”, then choose on to “Account” and then “Change Number”.

Moreover, WhatsApp could now permit the users to transfer the money via QR codes. Presently, the feature is only available in beta version, however, it would soon be available for the iOS and Android versions. The QR codes would allow the user to carry out the monetary transactions. For using this feature user needs to go to “Setting” then select “Payments” then “New Payment” and then click on to the “QR code”.

The camera would then be looking around for a compatible QR code and once that is recognized, the user would then enter the desired amount of payment. The feature is currently, available in India now, but would soon be launched in Pakistan once the testing phase reaches completion.
