WhatsApp might offer better-quality media for your status updates

Meta’s messaging platform, WhatsApp, received the feature relevant to sharing HD-quality media a few weeks ago. Recently, the feature was rolled out to the iOS version of the app. According to some recent pieces of information, the feature might be added to Status updates as well. Yes, WhatsApp could bring HD-quality media uploads to status updates. Well, this is an essential addition given the fact that most smartphones feature Full HD+ resolution screens that must showcase high-quality files.

The new feature was spotted in WhatsApp beta’s latest version (2.23.26.3). According to the information shared by WABetaInfo, while sharing the status updates, the new feature can be spotted on the top of the screen. You can choose among higher-resolution photos and videos by clicking on the HD icon, which provides better-looking visuals when reading status updates. People have complained about WhatsApp’s compressed images and videos for years, but it appears that the business is finally trying to make improvements by providing higher-quality photographs and videos everywhere.

Previously, users were trying out alternative approaches. One such approach is to send an HD image or video to yourself and then share it in the Status Updates section. Well, this doesn’t always work as well and a proper solution is required. According to recent information, the feature can arrive in the next few months. Whether the HD indicator appears on status updates with higher-quality media files is unclear.

Currently, the new feature is under testing. It is not even available to beta testers. So, there is a good chance that the company is conducting internal testing at the moment. In addition to this, the company is working on another feature that will enable users to share their status updates on Instagram. Previously, users had the option to share status updates on Facebook.
