The most popular messaging app in the world, WhatsApp is testing a new disappearing message feature. It would enable the WhatsApp users to set their messages to self-destruct after a certain period of time.
Initially, this “self-destructing messages” feature appeared in the 2.19.275 version of the Android app. However, WABetaInfo, who initially discovered the feature has revealed that it is not available to everyone on the beta.
This disappearing message feature will be interesting and useful for those who want to send sensitive info that they don’t wish to be permanently available.

This feature has been seen in the Telegram app. In secret chats feature of the app, users are able to use self-destructing messages.
As of now, the feature is in the development stage. In its current form, WhatsApp allows users to set messages for delete after either 5 seconds or an hour. There is no in-between. Furthermore, the feature is available in group chats.
As of now, it is not known whether the feature will be available for everyone or not, and what capabilities it will have.
