WhatsApp will Not Work on these phones from Feb 2020

WhatsApp will end its support on certain Android and iPhones from Feb 2020. WhatsApp will not work on a few smartphones that run either on Android or on iOS platforms. The FAQ page of WhatsApp has listed the phones and operating systems on which WhatsApp will no longer work after Feb 2020.

All Android phones that are operating on Android 2.3.7 operating system and iPhones that are running on iOS 7 will not support WhatsApp from 1st February. Furthermore, the world’s most popular messaging app will not be available in  Microsoft Store after 1st July 2019.

Despite this, WhatsApp has claimed that this decision of ending support on these phones will not affect many users. Only those users who are still using old Android phones and iPhones will get affected.

WABetainfo posted a tweet that stated that WhatsApp will not support the devices that run on iOS8 or lower. But, users can still use WhatsApp on iOS 8 but they will not able to verify the account if they try to reinstall it.

From Feb 1st, 2020 the iOS 8 compatibility will be completely removed.

WhatsApp in its support page said, “We’ll no longer actively develop for these operating systems; some features might stop functioning at any time. If you currently use an older operating system, we recommend upgrading to a newer version.”
