With the latest update, Google Maps will now provide navigation even if you are driving inside a tunnel

Google maps is the easiest approach in terms of navigation. This app works as a go-to navigation for a mobile app as well as in cars. Although there are some areas that make it hard for Google Maps to provide its services. Alternate to this, Waze, google owned app has been providing the service for years and is providing its services in tunnel areas.

As far as we know, Google maps doesn’t work inside the tunnels. As per latest information, Google is updating its app and now with GPS navigation, you’ll be able to use navigation even if you’re driving inside the tunnels. Waze provides support for this via Bluetooth beacons inside tunnels to provide this service across the world including countries like New York City, Chicago, Paris, Brussel and many more.

For iOS users, the Google Maps tunnel navigating option isn’t available yet

Recent sources suggest that Bluetooth beacon support for Google Maps may finally be arriving. The app’s Settings menu now displays a new tunnel navigation function. Notably, the Google Maps Android app presently has this capability. Navigating to Settings > Navigation Settings and looking for the ‘Driving Options’ area at the bottom will take you to the new Google Maps tunnel navigation option.

Please be aware that to enjoy navigating inside tunnels, the feature is deactivated by default and must be explicitly enabled. It appears that everyone is now able to use it.
