Xbox Series X | S & PC: May 2025 update is ready

Microsoft is expanding the feature and game offer for Xbox Series X | s and PC in May 2025 update. Over 50 retro titles from the 80s and 90s come into the Game Pass. There are also improvements for PC gamers, including GeForce Now and new game bar functions.
Retro-gaming meets modern technology
Microsoft extends the Xbox ecosystem with an extensive May update by several important functions. It starts with the new Retro Classics collection, which was developed in collaboration with Antestream Arcade and Game Pass members are now available. The collection includes over 50 iconic activision games from the 1980s and 1990s. The highlights include popular titles such as Commando, Grand Prix, Kaboom!, Mech Warrior 2: 31st Century Combat and Pitfall!.

The games can be played on the Xbox Series X | S consoles as well as via the Xbox app for PC and via Xbox Cloud Gaming on supported LG and Samsung smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV sets and META quest headsets. Microsoft plans to continuously expand the Retro Classics collection. In the coming months, further games from Activision and Blizzard are to be added until the collection has grown to over 100 titles. The company also celebrates the success of its Xbox Play Anywhere program – this year alone, over 70 games have already been published with this cross -platform.

New features for PC players
The update brings a significant innovation for PC players: When using the Xbox app, users now have the choice between the Xbox Cloud Gaming Service and Nvidias GeForce Now platform. This option appears in the form of a pop-up window as soon as a game is available on both platforms. The Game Bar also receives an update with a revised setting widget. Users can now quickly adjust audio settings, regulate the screen brightness and show a virtual keyboard. The Microsoft Edge Game Assist will also be introduced shortly-an in-game browser that should enable an immersive gaming experience directly in Edge.
