Xiaomi Foldable Phone Patent Shows Pencil Attaches Magnetically

Xiaomi foldable

After Xiaomi presented its first foldable in spring 2021, the smartphone manufacturer seems to be working on another model. The device has now appeared in a new patent. The design should be based on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series.

As MySmartPrice writes, the application was filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office. The document contains sketches that describe the new foldable. The folding mechanism seems to be similar to the technology of the Galaxy Z Fold series. The foldable model could be launched in 2022 as the successor to the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold.

The pen can be attached magnetically like Apple ipads

While the power button and the volume buttons are on the right, there is space for a digital pen on the left. The stylus should be able to be attached to the foldable with the help of a magnet. Xiaomi may be planning to ship the Mi Mix Fold 2 together with the stylus.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold was presented in spring and equipped with a Snapdragon 888 SoC, a 108-megapixel lens, and a triple camera module. The 8.01-inch display has a QHD + resolution.

So far, no specifications for the Mi Mix Fold 2 surfaced

So far, no technical data are known about the future foldable. At the moment, one can only speculate about which components are used in the device. It is possible that more details about the Mi Mix Fold 2 could leak out in the next few months. When Xiaomi will officially announce the smartphone is also still unclear.
