Xiaomi not firing 10 percent of employees: Dismiss rumors

Xiaomi denies rumors that the company is about to lay off a large number of employees. In China, reports previously circulated that about ten percent of jobs would be cut. as the South China Morning Mail reported, Xiaomi has denied reports that the Chinese smartphone maker and tech group plans to lay off a large number of employees. Similar claims have surfaced on Chinese social media.

CEO wants Xiaomi at the top in 3 years

Xiaomi would like to lay off about 10 percent of its employees, especially persuading newly hired employees to leave the company. Xiaomi denied the reports circulated by, among others, China’s second-largest state news agency, pointing out that jobs had never been cut before. The group currently employs more than 31,000 people worldwide and plans to continue growing, according to a company representative. Since the company was founded in 2010, there have been further job losses. In addition, Xiaomi is currently looking for around 4,000 new employees and therefore wants to continue to grow strongly.
