Xiaomi unveils the Smart Band 8

Yesterday, during the press event of the company, Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi Pad 6 series, and the Xiaomi Smart Band 8. The company has confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be introduced on an international scale. Whereas it is anticipated that the company will unveil the other two products globally as well.

More than a regular fitness tracker

One of the notable aspects of the Xiaomi Band 8 is that it is much more than a regular fitness tracker. The company has introduced the Xiaomi Band 8 with a nice display. It is available in two colors: bright black and light gold. It comes with a metallic texture. It is offered with a range of different straps. Even a necklace-shaped strap is also available.

Fitness and Health features of the Xiaomi Band 8

Concerning the fitness and health features, the Band is well-equipped. It has around 150+ training modes. It includes a smart health assistant, continuous heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, SpO2 monitoring, a six-axis motion sensor, and period tracking. Additionally, it features a new running bean mode that provides the users with a professional running experience. Besides the tracking of users’ running data, it has professional data streams. These data streams consist of stride frequency, stride length, ground contact vacancy ratio, ground impact force, and others.

Display of the Xiaomi Band 8

The band features a 1.62-inch 192 x 490 HD display. The display is protected by 2.5D glass. It is an AMOLED display, which is touch-sensitive. It provides up to 600 nits of brightness.

The band is 5ATM rated

Xiaomi Band 8 is 5ATM rated for water resistance indicating that the device is water resistant up to fifty meters.

Some other notable features

In addition to this, the tracker even functions as a camera remote for your smartphone. It shows notifications, permits controlling music on your phone, replies to messages, and much more.

Xiaomi Band 8 is offered with over 100 different watch faces. All of them have support for AOD. It also includes the Mars Super Wallpapers. It is provided with a 190mAh battery. The battery provides up to 16 days of battery life on typical usage, says Xiaomi. It can be charged fully within an hour.

Compatibility with Android and iOS

The device is provided with Bluetooth 5.1. It is compatible with Android 6.0+ and iOS 12+. It is offered in both regular and NFC editions.

Pricing and Availability

The price of the Xiaomi Band 8 without NFC is CNY239 ($35) in China. On the other hand, the variant with NFC is priced at CNY279 ($40). However, the price will go up if the device launches globally. It is available for sale in China as of now.
