Among the users, there are some who are always looking for the perfect words and phrases to reply to the text message. Sometimes they find it difficult because they could either run out of words or thoughts. To cater to this issue, the tech giant Google is now working on a new feature that will help users to reply to text messages in a better way. The company is developing a new generative AI reply feature for Google Messages.
The recent information has been provided by folks at 9to5Google who spotted the feature in the latest Google Messages beta version. It was discovered that Google is going to introduce a new button for its Messages app. The new button is presented in the composition box just next to the emoji button. Interestingly, the new icon has the same sparkle icon as the one presented with Bard.
As of now, the button has the capacity to only type ‘TODO!’ into the message composition box. it indicates that the feature is presently under development. Google will use its AI generative tools, either Bard or LaMDA, that power the app to suggest better replies in the future when the generative AI reply feature is available on the stable version of Google Messages on Android smartphones.
One thing to notice here is that simply tapping on the sparking icon doesn’t send the generated message. It enables the users to give it a look and decide whether to send a reply or not. The feature was spotted in the APK Insight post, so we are not whether this generative AI reply feature will actually roll out to Google Messages or not.
