You Can Now Transfer Facebook Posts and Notes to Google Docs, Blogger, and WordPress.com

Facebook has announced that users can now transfer their data directly to Google Docs. The types of data that users can now transfer include Facebook posts and notes.

The social networking giant is not only limiting data transfer from Facebook to Google Docs, but users can also transfer their data to Blogger and WordPress.com.

This isn’t the first time when Facebook has allowed data transfer outside its platform. Earlier, the tech giant also allowed users to transfer photos and videos to Backblaze, Dropbox, Google Photos, and Koofr.

To transfer data, users would be asked to re-enter their password; data encryption starts before the data moves between services.

This new option is sits under “Your Facebook Information” > “Transfer Your Information.”

Steve Satterfield – director of privacy and public policy – recently wrote in a blog post:

”We plan to continue expanding our data types and partners in the future. However, the ecosystem we are building to support data portability will not come to fruition without regulation that clarifies which data should be made portable and who is responsible for protecting data once it has been transferred. We hope that today’s updates can help advance conversations with policymakers, developers, and experts about these issues.”
