Your body temperature may now be tracked with the Google Pixel 8 Pro
Just recently, the tech giant Google debuted the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in a new mint color. According to some recent pieces of information, a new feature will be introduced to the high-end model of the series via the latest Pixel Feature Drop. Reportedly, the high-end Pro model is about to get the human body temperature tracking feature.
The new feature was rolled out with the latest Pixel Feature Drop. The Pixel 8 Pro from Google has the ability to measure a person’s body temperature. It is a “medical-grade feature,” according to official notes, so the FDA may have officially approved it. Users of the Pixel 8 Pro may now take a forehead temperature scan using the Thermometer app, according to the most recent update.
Interestingly, the data or results can even be saved into the Fitbit profile. In this way, users can better track their health. According to the company, the feature can accurately record body temperature. One thing to notice here is that this claim has not been verified against a medical thermometer. The sensor can withstand temperatures ranging from 200 degrees Celsius to -20 degrees Celsius. It uses infrared radiation released from the object to estimate the human body temperature.
One thing to notice here is that there is no clarity on whether this feature is accurate for humans or not. So we cannot rule out the use of a medical device on a smartphone. We will share more details about this functionality once it is available.
