A few years back YouTube started its gaming app, the move was made to let video gamers to find the content on the platform specific to video games, such as gameplay and gamer YouTubers, the app was the separate entity from the main YouTube app.
However, some of the features were integrated to the main YouTube app, the company now thinks that the YouTube gaming app is no longer needed hence it decided to shut down the YouTube Gaming app completely from March 2019.

But the YouTube Gaming platform is still there, people would be able to access gaming content via the web portal. Google said, the gaming app currently own a large portion of followers which has the potential to even larger following on direct YouTube platform.
You can open a YouTube gaming page and search/filter content by game, YouTuber, live streams and by the game developer. You can also subscribe to feeds for certain games.
