A feature that’s ideal for live events and sports has been added to YouTube TV

According to some recent pieces of information, YouTube TV is all set to receive a new feature. Reportedly, the new feature is relevant to broadcast delay. In case you don’t know, a broadcast delay is a deliberate pause between the moment the camera records something and when it appears on your screen. It appears that YouTube TV has a solution for this. So watchers of live broadcast TV, get ready to benefit from a seamless experience on YouTube TV.

The company announced via its Reddit account that a new feature has been rolled out for YouTube TV. Using the new feature, users can decrease the delay on a live broadcast. However, this is a temporary solution. Users will specifically be able to choose to shorten the delay for the subsequent 48 hours. When those 48 hours are over, YouTube TV will return to its original configuration.

Head to the three-dot menu, go to settings and locate the “Broadcast Delay” option. You will be presented with two options indicating “Decrease for 48 hours” or “Default” once you select them. Well, this is quite a nice addition for those who love sports or the ones who want to avoid spoilers when viewing a live event because there is less time between when something occurs and when you can see it.

Well, you shouldn’t be overexcited since the new feature comes with a few limitations. According to the company, the buffer on the video player is lessened once the broadcast delay is lowered. You may see more playback interruptions as a result of this. This is most likely the reason this setting is only temporary and not the default.

Another important thing to consider here is that even if a user has a great network and doesn’t rely on lowering broadcast delay, the playback interruption can still happen. Whatever it is, it is a nice addition that will benefit users whenever they desire.
