3D Map View is added to the SmartThings app, which improves usability

Samsung has formally released the SmartThings app’s 3D Map View feature. This new view, which is currently accessible on TVs, tablets, smartphones, and refrigerators, enhances the visibility and usability of smart home appliances.

The 3D Map View feature has been added to SmartThings

SmartThings, Samsung’s smart home platform, is highly popular. It was at the Samsung Developer Conference 2023 six months prior that the firm unveiled the 2D Map View functionality. The 3D Map View functionality, which is now accessible on the SmartThings app, was unveiled by the firm at CES 2024. By showing the locations of each smart home gadget in your house, this new view simplifies the management of smart homes.

Using the SmartThings app, you can draw a true floor plan of your house or place of business, designate where furniture should go, and enter the locations of all your smart home appliances. This helps you get a better concept of the layout and appearance of your home. Additionally, you can monitor the energy consumption and air quality straight from the 3D Map View, as well as change the lighting and AC temperature.

Bespoke Jet Bot and other Samsung home appliances with LiDAR sensors can also automatically create a 3D Map View. As of right now, smart TVs running Tizen, iOS, and Android can download the updated version of the SmartThings app. Before the end of the first half of the year, the feature will also be accessible on refrigerators in the Family Hub series.
