The desktop app of WhatsApp will soon have its screen-sharing function. The new functionality, which is still in beta testing, is available to users of the most recent version of WhatsApp for Windows. A few weeks later, the Meta-owned platform might make it available to the public. The source of this information is WABetaInfo.
A few weeks back, the company introduced the screen-sharing feature to the beta version of the Android app. During video calls, users can share their screens with other users. It can be accessed via a dedicated button presented at the bottom bar of the call screen. Users have full control over this feature. They can turn it on or off on their own will. Similarly, the feature doesn’t require permission from the other user.
As of now, the company has rolled out this feature for the desktop version of the app. As per the information provided by WABetaInfo, the feature on the desktop app allows users to choose between a particular window or share the whole content of their screen. Every user participating in a video call will have access to the shared screen.
The new screen-sharing feature is available on WhatsApp beta for Windows with version 2.2322.1.0. however, some of the desktop users have reported the arrival of the feature to the stable version. It seems to be a pre-mature release. The feature is currently only available to the beta users.
