Xiaomi’s MIUI will be replaced by HyperOS

According to some recent pieces of information, the Chinese company Xiaomi is about to refurbish its Android skin/UI. The current Android UI/skin by Xiaomi is known as MIUI. It will be replaced with the Xiaomi HyperOS. The above-mentioned information is accurate as it was shared by the company’s social media channels, employees, and the CEO.

MIUI will be substituted with Xiaomi HyperOS

According to the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, the new UI will debut with the Xiaomi 14 series. It was also mentioned by the Vice President of Xiaomi Global as “gradually replacing MIUI”. The delivery of “Hyper Performance, Fluidity, and Connectivity across Smartphones x AIoT” was another addition that he made.

It sort of indicates that the new Android skin for Xiaomi products won’t be limited to China only. MIUI has been around since the very first Xiaomi smartphone. In 2011, the company debuted the Xiaomi Mi 1 with MIUI 2.3 out of the box, which was based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

HyperOS will include several changes

Since 2011, the company has introduced several modifications to the UI. With the new HyperOS, it is not just the name that is changing; instead, there are many changes that will give a fresh new appeal to the UI itself. According to the tipster, Abhishek Yadav, the new UI has no similarity with the MIUI. He said that “Xiaomi team members” provided the information. Therefore, it appears that Xiaomi intends to reshuffle its software deck. Over the past couple of years, MIUI has provided several features. Most of the features weren’t liked by everyone. Currently, there are no details. However, things will become clear with time.
