Galaxy phones will receive latest Google Play system updates
If you attempted to install Google Play system upgrades on your Galaxy phone late last year, you may recall encountering an unusual problem. Most Galaxy phones were stuck on the July or older Google Play system update, and trying later updates resulted in a “ghost” install that didn’t change the Play system version, regardless of how many times you attempted installing it in a never-ending loop.
In other words, Google Play system updates on most Samsung phones were bugged as late as December 2023. However, the problem appears to be fixed, and most Galaxy phones should now be able to download and install the November 2023 Google Play system update. Surprisingly, a similar pattern emerged in 2022, when most Galaxy phones couldn’t move past the July version, but the issue was resolved in January 2023.
Samsung phones are back on track thanks to Play system updates
November 2023 Google Play system update is available for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy Z Fold 5. The Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54 appear to have received the latest Play system update as well, however for unknown reasons, you may have to try updating these phones several times before the new version takes effect.
To see if you can install the November 2023 Google Play system update on your Samsung phone, open the Settings app> Security and privacy> Updates,> Google Play system update> Check for update.
