A voice typing toolbar on the Pixel Tablet is being tested by Google
The tech giant Google is constantly putting in efforts to improve Gboard, its keyboard app. Reportedly, the company is testing a new feature for voice typing on Gbaord for the Pixel Tablet. Some changes were spotted in the recent beta version (13.7) of the app. The new changes are simpler and smoother than the normal full keyboard.
According to details, a sleek and pill-shaped toolbar will appear once Google Assistant voice typing is enabled. With the new UI, you may “see more of your screen when voice typing,” according to Google. The new changes are quite effective since they only show the main options that don’t take up much space. It allows you to access your clipboard, easily modify settings, switch to emojis, and perform voice commands. Additionally, it can be moved vertically or around the screen as needed, which is excellent for a variety of tasks or just your comfort.
In addition to this, text suggestions will also appear while typing. Overall, the experience is smooth and comfortable. It will be easier for users to type and edit the text. Furthermore, the full keyboard can also be accessed with just a single click. Currently, the new toolbar is available on only one Pixel Tablet that runs Android 14 QPR1. It is unavailable on other Pixel devices, like the Pixel Fold.
There are no details on whether Google will introduce this feature to other devices or not. It is a useful feature and we expect it to arrive on other Google devices like Pixel phones in the future, as something similar was hinted at by the company last year.
