One UI 6.1 update restores Chromecast support to Smart View

With the One UI 6.1 update, Samsung appears to have restored functionality for Chromecast screen mirroring within its Smart View feature. Although Samsung made it extremely difficult to access the secret feature in One UI 5.1, it was still present in the One UI 6.0 upgrade, which was based on Android 14 and was released a few months ago.

One UI 6.1 includes support for Chromecast in Smart View Labs

Mishaal Rahman noticed that Samsung has made it simpler to allow Chromecast functionality in Smart View once again. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are the first phones to run One UI 6.1, which includes this functionality. Open the Settings app > connected devices > smart view, on your phone to use this feature.

In the upper right corner of the screen, click the three dots menu and select Settings. Select Labs and turn on the Chromecast support toggle now. Smart TVs and screens with Chromecast or Google Cast enabled should now be shown in the Smart View menu.

One UI 5.1 had a similar location for this feature. Nevertheless, Samsung concealed the Chromecast support settings beneath even more difficult-to-find settings with the One UI 6.0 upgrade, requiring you to install many third-party apps, enable Developer Options, and go through numerous hoops.

In the upcoming months, a number of smartphones will receive the One UI 6.1 upgrade; the Galaxy S22, S23, S21 FE, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be the first devices to receive the update.
