You may now retrieve tickets from Gmail using Google Wallet
Google recently revealed that cinema tickets and boarding credentials will now be automatically retrieved by Google Wallet from Gmail or emails. The company shared that the new feature is currently working with some global movie chains and airlines. Google aims to expand this feature in the future.
When it comes to adding tickets to Google Wallet, there are two common methods. The first approach requires that after purchasing the ticket users can add it to Google Wallet by pressing the Add to Google Wallet button on the booking partner’s website. Secondly, take a screen shot of the ticket’s PDF file that shows the QR code, and then upload that image to Google Wallet.
In contrast to this, the new feature works by automatically adding tickets to Google Wallet. For instance, a user receives a confirmation mail about a flight or movie ticket in their Gmail app. It will eventually be transferred to the Google Wallet app. According to the company, the new feature is not accessible to all flight and movie tickets booking platforms.
Besides this new update, the company is constantly adding new features to the Google Wallet app. Earlier this month, the app received the update to archive passes manually. It will enable users to remove the irrelevant passes from the app’s home screen. It eliminates the requirement t to delete the passes. We can expect similar features for Samsung Wallet app in the future since they add another level of convenience for users.
