Samsung Galaxy Buds4 (Pro): ANC earbuds with head gesture control

In addition to the new Galaxy S26 series, Samsung also wants to present its new in-ear headphones Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro on February 25th. Thanks to a dealer leak, we now have more official images and some technical data about Samsung’s earbuds in advance.

Samsung also delivers new earbuds for the Galaxy S26

The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Galaxy Buds4 each adapt a revised design that sticks to the “style” of the previous models, but now relies on a new look. The main difference between the “normal” version and the “Pro” edition is the battery life, the type of drivers installed, protection against water and dust and of course the design. The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro (SM-R640) are again designed with rubber attachments so that they completely fill the auditory canal and thus physically seal them off from ambient noise. With its integrated active noise cancellation, the environment is additionally blocked out with the help of external microphones.

According to previously published dealer information, a revised “bidirectional speaker” should provide better sound inside. Samsung also integrates “intuitive head gesture control”. Operation can therefore be carried out with head movements as previously expected. On top of that, it is advertised that the headphones can be connected to several AI assistants and that technology from the field of artificial intelligence is also used for sound optimization.

The “normal” version of the Galaxy Buds4 (SM-R540) has an open design, so it does not close the ear canal. Nevertheless, the cheaper Samsung earbuds should also come with ANC. While the Pro version is advertised as having a runtime of up to 26 hours – including recharging via the transport case – the basic version “only” lasts up to 24 hours. Another difference is that the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are rated IP57 as “dust-tight and safe from ingress of water when submerged for a short time”, while the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 “only” come with IP55 protection, meaning they are only considered “protected from dust and water jets from any angle”.

Another feature of the Galaxy Buds4 series is support for real-time translation in conversations. The retailer leak has not yet revealed any further details. The new Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro will soon come onto the market in black and white and, according to previous reports, will cost 179 and 249 euros respectively in EU and Germany.
