The G512 X is Logitech’s most advanced gaming keyboard yet

Logitech is launching a new modular gaming keyboard with the G512 X. Users can switch between mechanical and analog TMR switches. The device offers an 8K sampling rate and adjustable pressure points for complex inputs.

Modular switches for gamers

Logitech today introduced its new wired gaming keyboard G512 X and it is aimed primarily at users who want to precisely adapt their hardware and value individual configurations. The keyboard comes in two size layouts with 75 percent and 98 percent and combines mechanical switches with analog sensors from the Tunnel Magneto Resistance (TMR) category. The so-called dual-swap technology makes it possible to flexibly equip 39 specific key positions. Buyers can either use conventional mechanical switches with three or five pins or use the nine included Gateron KS-20 magnetic analog switches. This allows the button press to be recorded continuously, which is useful, for example, when controlling vehicles in games.

As Logitech As explained in a press release, the analog switches allow multiple actions to be assigned to a single button. A light pressure triggers walking, while a deeper pressure causes the character to sprint.

Tactile feedback and 8K

In order to make the second trigger point physically noticeable, the manufacturer includes so-called SAPP rings. These rubber rings are placed under the keycaps and create a noticeable resistance when reaching a certain depth. This makes it easier to control multiple assignments. For fast signal processing, the model offers an 8K sampling rate that enables a response time of 0.125 milliseconds. The keyboard also has an integrated storage space for replacement switches and feet that also serve as a tool for the keycaps. An adjustable RGB light strip on the lower edge complements the features. The peripheral device is only offered as a wired version, as the high sampling rate requires a permanent and stable power supply.

The flexible slots for the special switches are concentrated in the left area of the keyboard. This concentrates the configuration of the analog key assignment in the area that is usually operated with the left hand in PC games. The compact model G512 X with 75 percent costs 189.99 euros. The larger version with 98 keys including a number pad is available for 219.99 euros. Both variants will be available in stores from May 2, 2026. An optional acrylic palm rest is available separately.
