The Last House: Trailer for the oppressive sci-fi thriller from Netflix

How long can you survive in your own four walls if there is no way out? In the upcoming Netflix thriller The Last House, a family of four involuntarily has to deal with this very question when they are suddenly held captive in their home by an unknown force. Now there is the official trailer.
Locked in your own apartment
The film focuses on Jason (played by Wagner Moura) and his wife Ann (Greta Lee) as well as their two children Ruth (Riley Chung, later Emma Ho) and Graham (Noah Alexander Sosnowski, later Gabriel Barbosa), who one day discover that neither the doors nor windows of their house can be opened anymore. Breaking windows is also pointless because the glass doesn’t break and cracks close on their own. It becomes clear that an external threat is keeping the four prisoners in the house. Help is not expected because neighboring houses – and possibly even the entire world – are obviously also affected by the event. However, it doesn’t seem to be safe outside anyway, as the trailer also reveals.
Claustrophobic sci-fi thriller
The Last House was staged by Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me, Lupin) as an oppressive chamber play that largely takes place in the family’s home and, in addition to their attempts to escape, focuses primarily on the fight for survival as well as against increasingly scarce resources and the decay of helpful household items. For this, the director worked closely with survival expert Megan Hine. The trailer also makes no secret of the fact that the family’s captivity lasts not just days or weeks, but several years. However, if you want to know what supernatural power is behind the phenomenon, you will have to wait until August 7, 2026, when The Last House will start exclusively on Netflix.
