iPhone 13 Will Also Have a Notch But Smaller
The notch is what you see a cutout on the Apple iPhone screen’s top, the notch houses sensors and cameras mostly and sometimes the earpiece to listen to the calls as well. Apple is now ready to kickstart the event as soon as for next week when you will expect to see 4 new iPhones.
There hasn’t been much talk about the notch design, punch-hole design, or even design without notch about the iPhones lately, leading to the assumption the iPhone 12 lineup will keep the wide notch that has been part of the screen in the past three years.
A popular tipster revealed on Twitter the notch will be present not only on the iPhone 12, but on the 2021 iPhone 13 as well, although it will get a bit smaller next year. Smaller could be in terms of notch’s width but not length as reported by MacRumors and suggested by IceUniverse.
We know it is way too early to make such predictions about a phone, expected to arrive in no less than 12 months, but the Ice universe has been reliable and has provided inside information for quite some time, so this one might also end up true.
Apple is clearly not following the trends of holes or waterdrops that others are implementing and will stick to Face ID a bit more. Cupertino is clearly betting on design and is not implementing the solutions like a pill-shaped cutoff that houses all the facial recognition tools, something that Huawei does. There have been some speculations that Apple would not stress changing the design of a new iPhone by removing the notch until the under-display camera becomes popular and widely accepted.
