Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro X 15 Launched In China
The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has presented its new flagship notebook in its home country. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro X is equipped with a 15-inch OLED display and features Intel’s latest CPU technology from the 11th generation of core SoCs.
Visually, the device corresponds to what is known from various other high-end notebooks from Xiaomi and other manufacturers. The device has narrow display bezels and housing made entirely of aluminum. There is also a large trackpad and a fingerprint reader is located in the power button.
The display is a special feature. It is a 15.6-inch panel with 3456×2160 pixels, which is kept in the 16:10 format and works with 60 Hertz refresh rate. Thanks to OLED technology, the screen should offer extremely high contrast values and full coverage of the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. It also achieves a maximum brightness of up to 600 candela, which is a more than decent value for a notebook.
New Intel 35W CPUs
Under the hood, there is the latest Intel technology because the new Intel “Tiger Lake” quad-core SoCs with a maximum power loss of up to 35 watts is used. Specifically, the Intel Core i5-11300H with up to 4.4GHz boost clock or the Intel Core i7-11370H with a maximum of 4.8 gigahertz boost frequency, the Xiaomi each with an Nvidia RTX 3050Ti with four gigabytes of its own GDDR6- memory pairs.
As is typical for Xiaomi, the number of configurations available ex-works is kept low in order to keep costs down. While the i5 model comes with 16 gigabytes of RAM and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, the i7 model uses 32 gigabytes of RAM and a 1 TB SSD.
The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro X has a USB Type-C port, a Thunderbolt 4 port, two USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 output, and a 3.5 mm jack for audio. Radio is transmitted via Bluetooth 5.2 or WiFi 6. The speakers tuned by Harman-Kardon also support DTS audio. The battery is surprisingly large with 80-watt hours, even if you shouldn’t expect any runtime miracles in view of the 35 watt CPUs.
Xiaomi is initially only launching the new Mi Notebook Pro X in China, where the starting price for the i5 model is set at 7,999 yuan. The version with the Core i7 SoC costs 9999 yuan. Converted, this corresponds to just under 1050 and a good 1300 euros, however, the availability of the laptop in Europe is not confirmed yet.
