Xiaomi Mi 11 Series Gets Android 12 Beta
After Samsung, Xiaomi is now jumping on the Google Android 12 train and is supplying the first smartphones with a beta version of the new operating system. Owners of a model from the Xiaomi Mi 11 family can now register for the trial version – places are limited.
The so-called “Stable Tester Recruitment”, a kind of application phase for the globally delivered version of Android 12 on compatible smartphones of the company, is now starting in the forum of the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi. In the beginning, you want to test the beta of the upcoming mobile operating system exclusively on the Xiaomi Mi 11, Mi 11i, and Mi 11 Ultra models. It is currently not known whether further smartphones will be selected for the beta at a later date.
Android 12 Beta Places Are Limited
As usual, the places in the Android 12 beta are very limited, if not already taken. Xiaomi currently speaks of 200 seats per model on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are lucky enough to get one of the beta slots, it should not be installed on the main device prior to the release. Despite the stable version, errors can occur that lead to data loss.
In contrast to Xiaomi, Samsung has been distributing the Android 12 beta including an update to the One UI 4 interface for several weeks. Only devices from the Samsung Galaxy S21 family are currently being supplied. The download from the South Korean group can be initiated via the “Members App”, which is pre-installed at the factory or available from the Samsung app store. The release of the final version of Android 12 is expected as early as next week.
