A 50 MP primary camera with variable aperture will be featured on the Huawei Nova 12 Pro and Ultra

Yesterday, we got some information regarding the Huawei Nova 12 series. The company is expected to debut the new series before the end of this year, i.e., on December 26. Reportedly, the new series comes with a refreshed design. It was quite expected to get more details about the upcoming smartphones since the launch is just a matter of a few days away.

Digital Chat Station has shared some fresh details about the camera sensors of the Nova 12 series. According to the information shared by the tipster, a 50MP sensor with a variable f/1.4–4.0 aperture will be featured on the Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra. Huawei has been using the same aperture for quite some time now. The company reportedly used it for the Nova 11 Ultra, the P60 Pro flagship, and the Mate 60 series.

There will be two selfie cameras: a primary 60 MP camera that probably has an ultrawide lens to capture the entire group in the picture. It will include an 8 MP secondary camera unit. Well, this appears to be the same camera setup as the Nova 11 Pro and the Nova 11 Ultra. However, the tipster claims that the secondary shooter of the Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra will be based on a 2x telephoto lens.

Reportedly, the display of the smartphones will be 1.5K. It is a common marketing term used by Chinese smartphone manufacturers to refer to 1220p screens. According to the information unveiled by the tipster, the phone won’t feature a periscope shooter. The two cameras in the Nova series will be concealed by a pill-shaped punch hole since the series is all about selfies.
