A new A15-based CPU will power the Apple Watch Series 9 model

Several companies like Google, Samsung, Fitbit, Apple, and others have introduced their smartwatches in the market. They are introduced with amazing features that help the users in several ways. Smartwatches come with watchOS that vary from company to company. From tracking health and fitness to monitoring heart rate, smartwatches are more than just usual smartwatches.

Last year, Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 8. Reportedly, the smartwatches were powered by the S8 chip. It was a similar pattern as was observed with the Watch Series 7 and Watch Series 6 which were powered by the S7 and S6 chips respectively. However, there are some interesting rumors about Apple’s upcoming Watch Series 9. These claims have been made by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. According to him, the Watch Series 9 will have a new processor. It won’t be a rebranded version of the previous chip, Gurman emphasizes. The Apple Watch Series 9 is expected to arrive in a few months.

Furthermore, Gurman claims that the new chip will be based on the company’s A15 SoC. It is the same chip that powers the iPhone 13 series. The Series 9 processor will likely increase the Watch Series 9’s performance and efficiency. However, it’s unknown how much different it will be from the A15.

The company will introduce the watchOS 10 at WWDC 2023. The event is scheduled between June 5-9. There are no updates on whether the tech company unveils any information about the Watch Series 9’s chip at its developers’ conference or not. Whatever may be the case things will eventually become more clear with time.
