A report suggests that Google will unveil Pixel Fold during I/O 2023

Various Chinese smartphone manufacturers have introduced their devices in the foldable segment. However, these devices are not available on a global scale. It is now speculated that Google will be the first company to encounter Samsung on an international scale. It seems like Google has assembled all the features that people prefer in foldable phones.

A recent report from CNBC suggests that tech giant Google will unveil the Pixel Fold during I/O 2023 in May. The smartphone will be available for sale by the end of June 2023 onwards in various Western markets. Furthermore, the report indicates that Pixel Fold will have an IP rating similar to the one offered by the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Additionally, it states that Google will advertise the phone as having the strongest hinge. After Samsung added an IPX8 grade to their foldable phones, it seems certain that Google will follow suit in order to compete effectively and draw customers.

In addition to this, the report states that the Pixel Fold will showcase a 5.8-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch internal foldable screen. Just like the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro, this device will be powered with the Tensor G2 processor. The device will weigh 283g. in contrast to the 264g weight of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Pixel Fold will be 20 grams heavier. The device is said to offer 24 hours of charging upon a single charge under normal usage conditions. It can last for up to 72 hours in power-saving mode. it is the same as the Pixel 7 lineup.

Price of the Pixel Fold

The report claims that the Pixel Fold will be available for $1700, the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The Pixel Fold might be the first legitimate rival to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 due to its durable hinge, water-resistant setup, sound user interface, and comparable price.
