A tipster claims that HMD is working on six HMD-branded smartphones

We found out earlier this month that HMD Global, a Finnish phone manufacturer, will begin producing Android phones under the HMD name in addition to its popular Nokia line. We may already know the codenames for six of the upcoming smartphone line’s entries thanks to a fresh leak.

Reportedly, a tipster claims that he has information regarding the codenames of the HMD-branded smartphones. The recent information comes from tipster Evan Blass, who shared the details on X (formerly Twitter). The tipster claims that the company is working on six new smartphones. The devices have been codenamed “Legend,” “Pulse Plus,” “Legend Plus,” “Pulse,” “Pulse Pro,” and “Legend Pro.”

The above-mentioned codenames indicate that the smartphones lie in two different Legend and Pulse series of smartphones. The tipster has not shared any further details. This information comes after a leak on Friday that showed a render of a gadget bearing the HMD logo. It’s unclear from the render if the device in question is a Legend or Pulse phone. The rumor suggests that the upcoming smartphone falls in the mid-range category. It features a flat display, two rear cameras, and a matte black rear panel.

Last year, even before this render, the IMEI database listed two new smartphones with model numbers N159V and TA-1585. Perhaps these model numbers refer to the Pulse and Legend series. However, we can’t predict which model number refers to which series. Nonetheless, it’s thought that the phone depicted in the render has the model number N159V.
