Acer Notebook Sales Doubled Amid Coronavirus Crisis

Washington: Where the Coronavirus hit hard on industries like petroleum, manufacturing, construction, and others some of the industries are making the fortune. All is happening due to changed circumstances and the changing needs of the people.

The computer manufacturer Acer apparently benefits greatly from the considerable increase in demand for notebooks as a result of the spread of the coronavirus. In North America, sales figures are said to have more than doubled in some cases.

As the Taiwanese industry service DigiTimes reports, sales of Acer’s notebook models in the United States and Canada increased extremely in March 2020 as a result of the corona pandemic. Because there is a “lockdown” in all states in the United States, many people have to work from home. Due to the lack of appropriate hardware, there were probably a large number of new purchases.

Growth of more than 100 percent

According to Acer’s supply chain sources, cited by DigiTimes, based on data from NPD Research, the number of Acer notebooks sold in the United States in March 2020 rose 105 percent compared to the same month in 2019. The increase was even more blatant in Canada: 135 percent more notebooks were sold there in March 2020.

If you go into detail, the low prices and the use in schools and other educational institutions should increase the demand for Chromebooks with Google Chrome OS particularly strongly. Compared to March 2019, NPDR market watchers saw a huge 177 percent increase in Acer Chromebook sales, according to the report.

In addition to notebooks, monitors are also said to be in high demand right now, as Acer reported that 124 percent more screens were sold in the United States than in the same month last year. In an official statement, Acer had already announced that it had reacted flexibly to the increase in demand in certain areas. In March, the company said the delivery figures for various products increased significantly in order to meet the growing demand.

Why Acer?

The answer is simple, people need cheaper solutions to spend time in their homes and Acer is one of the cheaper notebooks available on the market which also provides adequate quality.
