Activision Blizzard Becomes Investigator, Judge, and Accused Itself And Found No Guilty

A year ago, it was revealed that Activision Blizzard had a wide range of abuses, including sexual harassment and toxic work culture. Activision Blizzard did its own research and found very little.

Activision Blizzard acquits Activision Blizzard

Everything is half as wild: That’s about the conclusion of the Activision Blizzard investigation by Activision Blizzard. While Activision Blizzard’s board of directors found that there were “some justified cases of gender-specific harassment” at Activision Blizzard, Activision Blizzard’s own investigation found no systematic misconduct at Activision Blizzard.

Activision Blizzard’s management also found no evidence that Activision Blizzard’s management “deliberately ignored or attempted to downplay harassment.” That’s roughly the conclusion presented to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) (via The verge While the document acknowledges that “the media allegations and court records about our company were as abhorrent to us as they were to anyone else,” they were isolated cases. The board is more or less acquitted across the board. On the contrary: Activision Blizzard blames the media, and reports that the incidents were known to the top, which the report calls “unfounded”.

Individual cases are recognized, but there have never been “systematic problems”. Rather, it sees itself as a victim of a campaign: “It must be said that the company is subject to a relentless barrage of media criticism seeking to tarnish the entire company (and many innocent employees) with the taint of a very small part of our employees, who behaved badly and were punished for it.” The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) is also under attack, the agency that first investigated Activision Blizzard. The ABK Workers Alliance, aka the union of employees of Activision Blizzard and King, reacted sharply on Twitter to this “hand washing” by management: “This response is thin and vague like all other ‘efforts’ to date.”
