Amazon Launching 4 new Fire HD 8 tablets for Kids and Adults
Retail giant Amazon has always focused on affordable devices when it comes to tablets, and they’ve carved out a pretty successful niche. Now there is a quadruple replenishment, namely with variants of the Fire HD 8 series. Amazon introduced four new tablets today, more precisely, there are two normal Fire HD 8 versions and two kids’ devices. Their names: Fire HD 8, Fire HD 8 Plus, Fire HD 8 Kids, and Fire HD 8 Kids Pro.
The new devices represent the twelfth generation of Amazon tablets and, as you can see from the name, they have an eight-inch display. Prices start at 114.99 euros, but there is the Fire HD 8 with 32 gigabytes of internal memory (and advertising), and the version with 64 GB costs 144.99 euros.
According to the manufacturer, the tablet now has a Hexa-core CPU clocked at 2 GHz. According to Amazon, the latest Fire HD 8 is 30 percent faster than the previous model. The resolution of all variants is 1280 x 800 pixels, and the battery purchase time is 13 hours.
Fire HD 8 Plus Expensive With More RAM
The new Fire HD 8 Plus costs at least 134.99 euros, which is 20 euros more. Instead of two gigabytes of RAM, users get three GB of RAM, wireless charging, and faster charging via USB-C, namely via a 9-watt power supply. A 5-watt power supply is included with the Fire HD 8, and a full charge takes five hours, while this process takes three hours for the Plus version.
The only difference between the two children’s devices and the adult devices is that they have a child-friendly cover, and there is also special software, which above all offers child safety and the corresponding setting options. Amazon: “Designed for children ages three to seven, the Fire HD 8 Kids includes a year of Amazon Kids+ with access to entertainment and educational content from brands like Disney, Barbie, and Pumuckl.”
Aimed at school-age children, the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro offers essentially only age-appropriate content. The Fire HD 8 Kids and the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro cost 159.99 euros each. All four devices can be pre-ordered starting today for delivery on October 21, 2022.
