Prices Climb Despite AMD’s MSRP Promise
Demand has driven prices well above AMD’s suggested retail prices (MSRP). Despite AMD’s pledge to keep prices at €629 for the RX 9070 and €689 for the XT variant, current availability tells a different story. Models are selling for significantly more—starting at €750 for the RX 9070 and €850 for the XT. This represents a 20–23% markup over MSRP.
Nvidia’s Struggles Work in AMD’s Favor
AMD’s sales dominance can also be attributed to Nvidia’s supply chain issues. Many of Nvidia’s RTX cards are hard to find, giving AMD an opportunity to reclaim market share. Even with inflated prices, Radeon cards remain more affordable than Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs, though the latter are more powerful. Rumors suggest AMD is already preparing an even faster “extreme” variant of the RX 9070 to further compete with Nvidia.
Supply Challenges for AMD
While AMD’s cards are more readily available than Nvidia’s, many models are already sold out. To keep up the momentum, AMD must increase supply in the coming weeks. Stable pricing and improved availability will be key factors in maintaining the strong demand for RDNA-4 GPUs.
