AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Vs Intel Core i9-13900K Performance Benchmarks

AMD’s upcoming price-performance hope Ryzen 7 7800X3D is now taking on the Intel Core i9-13900K in the first official benchmarks. The cheaper Zen 4 processor with 3D V-Cache seems to easily outperform it in selected games.

While the AMD Ryzen 7950X3D was able to easily assert itself against the competition from Intel, not all gamers should reach for the 789-euro flagship. A lot of eyes are on the new Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which is due to be released on April 6th for 449 US dollars (500+ euros incl. taxes). When it comes to benchmarks, the chip manufacturer has primarily compared itself with its own processors from earlier series in the past. Now the official duel against Intel is in focus.

Interested parties should wait for independent tests

Before the market launch, colleagues from Tom’s Hardware publish AMD’s official marketing material and with it the gaming comparison between Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Intel Core i9-13900K. In the games Rainbow Six Siege, Total War: Three Kingdoms, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Horizon Zero Dawn, the performance advantage is between 13 and 24 percent in favor of the new Zen 4 CPU.

In terms of gaming performance, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D ranks just behind the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X3D in AMD’s internal benchmarks, which of course raises a number of questions. In addition, tests were only carried out in a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with only high graphic details. According to the report, the Ryzen 9 is only about four percent ahead of Intel’s Core i9-13900K in a real-world gaming scenario and in combination with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090.

Accordingly, the benchmarks of the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D published at the launch should be used with caution. The first practical tests remain to be seen.
