Another rumor suggests that Samsung’s upcoming foldable flagships may launch early

Just a few days ago it was reported that Samsung could launch its next flagship foldable smartphones earlier than expected. Now another rumor indicates that the tech company could debut the new foldable in the next Galaxy Unpacked event in late July instead of August. Soon we could witness the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the market. According to Samsung’s own earnings report, the second part of the year will also see a significant marketing push for foldable.
Samsung plans to heavily promote foldable in 2023
Well, the most recent rumor supports both the possibility of an early release and the assertion that Samsung is stepping up its efforts to sell more foldable smartphones. Analyst Ross Young claims that “production estimates for the Z Flip 5 for July 2023 are about double that of the Z Flip 4 in 2022.”
One thing to notice here is that Galaxy Z Fold 5 is not mentioned here. Well, this is not surprising at all. Given the fact that Galaxy Z Flip line is more stylish as well as affordable. For this reason, it accounts for more sales of the Galaxy Z Flip line in contrast to the Galaxy Z Fold lineup. This could be the reason that the South Korean conglomerate is focusing on the massive production of Galaxy Z Flips than Galaxy Z Folds.
As far as the early launch event is concerned, it seems like that Samsung wants to make an early appearance in the market. In this way, it can better compete with other foldable phone makers like Google. Google is expected to enter the foldable smartphone market this year with the Pixel Fold. Furthermore, an early launch event would be beneficial as the new foldable will have a significant time in the market before the next series of iPhones from Apple arrives.
In addition to this, some reports indicate that the company will hold the next Unpacked event in its home country. In this way, it will be able to boost the country’s bid for World Expo 2023. However, the exact location of the event is yet to be decided. There is a possibility that the company might hold the event in the USA as it has done in the past.
