Apple aims to use 100% recycled cobalt in their batteries by 2025

As per an announcement from Apple, it was revealed that it’ll be using 100% recycled cobalt in batteries by 2025. This latest amendment will be applicable to all Apple products. In addition, the company intends to replace all magnets in its devices with recycled earth elements.

Apple will use 100% recycled cobalt batteries by 2025

Apple is aiming to progress towards some environmental friendly policies regarding its devices. All printed circuit boards designed by Apple will contain 100% recycled tin soldering along with 100% recycled gold plating. This aims to reach the goal of manufacturing carbon-neutral products by the year 2030.

As stated by the company about enhanced usage of 100% certified recycled cobalt during the last three years, With that, there’s a high possibility of using them up in batteries by 2025.

According to a declaration made by the company in the year 2022, about a quarter of Apple products would contain cobalt that was sourced from recycled materials. The material “cobalt” enables high energy density in batteries and also sets perfectly over the longer standby and safety precautions.

Apple is aiming to remove plastic from its packaging by 2025

Another environmentally friendly step taken by the company is to remove plastic from their packaging by the year 2025. The company is aiming to replace plastics with fiber alternatives. Currently, Apple packaging contains 4% plastic.

This ratio is low compared to other companies. This is quite a positive initiative taken by the company regarding the Earth’s safety. We are hoping other brands take steps like these that could save the environment in better ways.

Samsung is aiming to use 100% recycled plastic parts for its devices by 2050

Samsung hasn’t made an official announcement since February, but it’s aiming to use 100% recycled plastic parts in its devices by the year 2050.

We hope that other companies will follow in the footsteps of these two tech giants and aim to use less plastic and more recycled materials.
