Apple claims that downloads of the Vision Pro SDK exceeded expectations

Some fresh pieces of information suggest that downloads for the Software Development Kit, or SDK, for VisionOS exceeded expectations. Previously, the company was concerned about the developer’s interest in the Vision Pro headset. In an interview with Digital Trends, the company’s executives shared that the interest level of developers is ever-growing among the developer community.

The statement follows worries raised by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman last month, who said that the developer labs had been “under-filled with a handful of developers.” Notably, the company is not extending the capacity and reach of its Vision Pro headset beyond Cupertino. It indicates that developers are required to travel to the company’s main office in California in order to benefit from the hands-on experience of the Vision Pro.

In addition to this, the company has not responded to such reports. However, Susan Prescott, the company’s vice president, remarks that there were “extremely high, three-digit ratings from clients for the labs that we’ve operated so far.” Furthermore, Steve Sinclair, senior director of product marketing for Vision Pro, claims that SDK downloads have exceeded the company’s expectations. He told Digital Trends that Vision Pro appears to be quite popular among developers. Vision Pro is expected to launch in early 2024. From this perspective, the company has rolled out the ‌visionOS‌ simulator since June 2023 in order to facilitate developers to start building and testing apps for the headset.
