Apple Employees Upset Tim Cook Again On Leaking Inside Information

While Apple is busy working on new technologies and devices, some employees are still deceiving the company by leaking unauthorized information to outsiders. That makes Tim Cook, the CEO, quite unhappy. He wrote an email to his team and asked to stop doing that, or there would be consequences.

A statement from his email read that Apple is doing “everything in our power to identify those who leaked.” Another statement read:

…people who leak confidential information do not belong (at Apple),

Cook was upset when details of an internal meeting were leaked. The meeting wasn’t all about new technologies or upcoming devices. It was about their internal matter – a new COVID-19 policy for employees. He was also quite unhappy to see outsiders talking about his response to the rulings in the Epic v. Apple bench trial.

One might think that everyone has the freedom to speak (and it’s true). No one should leak secret information. That’s why companies have a privacy policy.

As quoted by PhoneArena, the email (extract) Tim Cook sent to his employees read:

I want you to know that I share your frustration. These opportunities to connect as a team are really important. But they only work if we can trust that the content will stay within Apple. I want to reassure you that we are doing everything in our power to identify those who leaked. As you know, we do not tolerate disclosures of confidential information, whether it’s product IP or the details of a confidential meeting. We know that the leakers constitute a small number of people. We also know that people who leak confidential information do not belong here.
