Apple has updated various earlier iPhones’ operating systems

With the passage of time, there are some devices that could not be upgraded to the latest releases. However, tech companies tend to release updates for their old devices and products. Similar is the case with Apple. It has now come forward with updates for some older devices. Reportedly, Apple is going to provide iOS 12.5.7, macOS 11.7.3, and other updates.

These latest updates will specifically benefit users that are still stuck with older devices. The latest offerings will cater to bugs and security concerns. They will be followed by the one presented in the recent iOS 16.3 and macOS Ventura releases. Almost fourteen different devices have been listed in the security patch notes list. These devices are reportedly affected by the security issues that have been addressed with the latest release. According to recent news, the new updated version includes iOS 12.5.7, iOS 15.7.3, iPadOS 15.7.3, macOS Big Sur 11.7.3, and macOS Monterey 12.6.3.

Well, this list has some gaps i.e., it lies between iOS 12 and iOS 15. The remaining have been put aside from updates. Since the device that can run iOS 13 can even run iOS 15. For this reason, the company has not released the updates for these versions separately.  However, if we go by these versions then we get to know that iOS 12.5.7 is supported by the iPhone 5s, introduced back in 2013. On the other hand, the oldest macOS Big Sur is the oldest mac to receive the latest updates.

The updates covered the following systems: Maps, Screen Time, Weather, WebKit, DiskArbitration, DriverKit, Intel Graphics Driver, PackageKit, Kernel, Mail Exchange, AppleMobileFileIntegrity, curl, dcerpc, and Windows Installer.

If you have not turned on the option of Automatic updates, update your device as soon as possible. Go to Settings. Tap on General, and then select the option indicating ‘Software updates.’ On the other hand, if you have turned on the above-mentioned option then you don’t need to worry about the updates. They will install on their own.
