Apple has added John Giannandrea to its official group, not exactly a year after he left Google to join its opponent. Giannandrea has been selected as the senior VP of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Strategy, another job that indicates Cupertino is getting increasingly serious with AI improvement.
The new executive, who used to be Mountain View’s AI and search boss, directs the advancement of Siri and Apple’s Core ML programming that engineers can use to include machine learning capacities into their applications.
In its declaration, Apple said Giannandrea’s group will concentrate on incorporating machine learning items into the organization’s items all the more firmly. The expectation is to convey a superior, increasingly wise and more normal experience for clients than what its items are right now able to do.
Furthermore, they’re attempting to make it less demanding for engineers to add AI highlights to iOS and Mac applications. Giannandrea has just been with Apple since April, yet he’s certainly fit the bill for the job: he drove the endeavors that made AI includes a necessary piece of many Google items.
The company wrote:
“Machine learning and AI are important to Apple’s future as they are fundamentally changing the way people interact with technology, and already helping our customers live better lives. We’re fortunate to have John, a leader in the AI industry, driving our efforts in this critical area.”
