An American journalist accustomed to indiscretions about Apple claims that the second beta of iOS 16 is about to be released. He claims that the third will arrive in the week of July 11, 2022, and that the second must precede it by fourteen days. Or in the week of June 27. This version should provide some clues about what’s new in the operating system.
Apple officially presented iOS 16 at its annual developer conference that took place from June 6 to 10, 2022. A conference rich in novelties since the Cupertino company also introduced its Apple M2 processor, two new computers, the MacBook Air M2 and the MacBook Pro unveiled M2, not to mention the latest versions of macOS Ventura, watchOS and iPadOS.
At this conference, Apple specified some of the new features that owners of iPhone 8 or later models will take advantage of (iPhone 7 is not compatible, just a reminder). Among these novelties, we find the new visualization of the maps from Apple Maps, the editing functions of the Messages application, and of course the customizable lock screen at will. This last feature is really the most interesting of iOS 16.
And you’re definitely looking forward to trying it, as are we at the editors. This is not yet possible as the first beta was reserved for developers. It was deployed on the day of the formalization of the operating system. You will normally have to wait for the third version, announced by Apple in July 2022. When will it arrive?
According to a message posted on Twitter by Mark Gurman, the famous American journalist from Bloomberg, Apple will be implementing this third beta version of iOS 16 in the week of 11 July 2022 which is, between 11 and 15 July. This means that within three short weeks Apple will release a sufficiently stable version of its next operating system for anyone who wants to try it (although it knows there should still be some bugs, despite the cleanup that will be done by then). But what about the second version? According to Mark Gurman, who relies on Apple’s habits, it should be deployed two weeks earlier. In other words… next week, As a reminder, the major versions of iOS will be deployed alongside the arrival of the new iPhones.
