iOS 16 Second Beta: Apple releases iCloud backups over LTE and 5G

Apple has released the second beta version for the upcoming iOS 16 for developers. Support for iCloud backups over LTE and 5G, previously only very limited, is now starting. Apple previewed the new capabilities and features of iOS 16 at the WWDC developer conference in early June. Many details about the changes have not yet been leaked. even in the Developer Release Notes little information is listed for the second beta of iOS 16, including general support for iCloud backups over LTE and 5G. How to join the beta program

Participation in the beta program is free and requires a one-time registration for the program beta.apple.com/sp/en/betaprogram from the respective supported device. This also applies to all beta versions that Apple is testing, so iPhone, iPad, Watch, Mac, and TV. To do this, users need to enter their Apple ID and then get the update automatically through the update function.

New versions are then automatically downloaded to the device. The new version is now available to registered users as an over-the-air update. Testing of the beta versions is always at your own risk and should not be performed on the productive system. iOS 16 will start in the fall with further updates for iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS. There is no exact date yet, traditionally the updates should start in September.
