Apple iPhone 15 No Simcard Slot?

Although the iPhone 15 should not appear until the year after next, there are already rumors about the upcoming Apple flagship. According to new information, the iPhone 15 Pro is said to be the first device without a SIM slot. That would make the smartphone more waterproof.

Current iPhones already with integrated eSIM

The current iPhone models already offer the option of using a digital eSIM. However, the service is not yet available in all countries, so the devices still have a physical SIM card slot. A new rumor spread by Blog do iPhone is that the iPhone Pro models planned for 2023 will have two eSIMs on board. This guarantees dual SIM functionality.

Of course, it should be noted at the current time that this is only a rumor and not confirmed information. Blog do iPhone is not yet known for reliable iPhone leaks. It is also conceivable that Apple will change its plans in the next two years. It remains to be seen whether the iPhone 15 (Pro) actually does not have a physical SIM slot. If the eSIM service is available in most regions by 2023, it is quite conceivable that Apple will dispense with the card slot in future flagship devices.

Lightning could also be abolished

In addition to the physical SIM slot, Apple could also do away with the Lightning port. Thus, the smartphone could only be charged wirelessly. This would have the advantage that the iPhone would no longer have any connections and would be significantly more waterproof. However, it is extremely unlikely that the socket will disappear as early as 2023.
