Apple iPhone 15 Prototype Images Surfaced

Apple will soon be able to hunt down its own employees and external sources again: photos have appeared on Twitter that is said to show a prototype of the iPhone 15. The images also allegedly confirmed that the new model is equipped with a USB Type-C port.

After journalist and Android specialist Max Weinbach recently published a series of render images based on CAD data from a case manufacturer, Mac Rumors and Twitter user URedditor have now published photos showing both the front and the back showing the bottom end of an iPhone 15 base model.

Among other things, the images show that the “Dynamic Island” of the current iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max is actually adapted for the cheaper model of the iPhone 15 series. However, the prototype in the photos differs in that there appears to be a large hole in the display next to the front camera, which even has some kind of inner frame, which in turn appears to have holes.

Since it is said to be an early prototype, it can of course also be a non-final display, especially since it is unclear whether the device shown is even functional or just a mockup. The slit for the earpiece or the upper loudspeaker can also be guessed at the edge of the housing so that everyone can now decide for themselves whether the hole in the screen could serve as a kind of woofer opening or whether it is simply not filled, since the hardware is at an early stage.

The images also show that the screen bezels are still wide and the device is back in a metal-framed case. The lower end of the case is more interesting anyway. A USB Type-C port is clearly installed there, which is flanked by the typical Apple pentalobe screws and the usual holes for the speakers.

Just a few days ago, a similar image appeared, showing an iPhone 15 Pro prototype with a gold-colored case, which also has such a port. Apple still has enough time to “fill all the holes”, because the iPhone 15 series is not likely to be launched until September this year.
