Apple Launches First iOS 15.2 Beta With App Privacy Report

After the release of the new iOS 15, Apple is now still processing all those functions that – although announced – were still missing in the final version. Now the first pre-release version of iOS 15.2 starts with a new feature.

App Privacy Report

With the new update for developers, there is now another feature lookup, because the released iOS 15 version did not include all the new functions and changes announced for iOS 15. Now Apple is devoting itself to various security and data protection functions. This is how the new app Privacy Report starts. In this report, Apple shows in an overview in the settings how often which apps have accessed sensitive personal data such as location, photos, camera, microphone, and contacts in the last seven days. It is also shown which actions are running in the background and, for example, whether an app is “calling home” or which domains the app is contacting.

In addition, there are mainly changes “under the hood”. Apple has fixed a number of bugs and incorporated a number of other improvements.

How to take part in the beta program

Initially, Apple released the iOS 15.2 beta update only for registered developers. An update for end users could follow soon, but nothing is known about it yet. If you have not yet registered for the public beta program, you can still do so and then join in when the first new public beta is available. Participation is free and requires a one-time registration for the program from the correspondingly supported device. The Apple ID is required for this.

Once you have registered, you will automatically receive new beta versions as with any other update. However, one should keep in mind that, as with any beta version, unforeseen problems could arise. It is, therefore, better not to use your productive iPhone, but rather a second device for the tests.
