Apple has released the second beta version for iOS 16.2 . Among other things, a new widget for the lock screen, new animations in the music app and many small improvements are being tested. A number of new functions are expected.
Initially, however, the update only starts for developers who are registered for the test program. With the second beta round as part of the iOS 16.2 developer test, Apple has introduced further visible changes – and is preparing an interesting innovation.
Apple has now also released the second beta for the public beta channel. Now everyone can try the preliminary version. Many details have not yet been leaked. The release notes mainly talk about bug fixes. The update brings build 20C5043.
The online magazine AppleInsider has already published a list of the changes. These include a widget for the lock screen, with which you can document the intake of medication. In addition, a bug in the camera app has been fixed and small improvements have been made in various apps. What is interesting is something that is still in preparation. Apple is therefore working on a custom accessibility mode that allows you to customize the user interface according to your needs.
If there is more information about the content of this update in a timely manner, we will provide it later. The public beta is also expected shortly.
Participation in the Beta Program is free and requires a one-time sign-up at beta.apple.com/sp/en/betaprogram from a Supported Device. Incidentally, this applies to all beta versions that Apple is testing, i.e. iPhone , iPad, Watch, Mac and TV.
Users must deposit their Apple ID for this and then receive the update via the update function. New versions are then automatically downloaded to the device. The fourth beta version is now available for registered developers as an over-the-air update.
Testing preliminary versions is always at your own risk and should not run on the production system.
