Apple has made available to developers the fourth version of macOS Monterey 12.3 beta, possibly one of the final tests prior to a release.
The latest builds are available to be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center for those who are part of the beta program as well as via an over-the-air update for devices running the beta software. Betas for public betas usually arrive within several days of developers’ versions and are accessible via the Apple Beta Software Program website.
The fourth build comes out just a little bit from the previous one, which was made available to the developers on Feb. 15. The second was announced on February 8 and the first on the 27th of January.
Universal Control Universal Control Universal Control seems to be the most significant feature of this version. It integrates together with iPadOS 15.4 to expand the user’s workspace onto the tablet. A single keyboard, mouse, or trackpad attached to a Mac is able to be shared between many iPads or Macs nearby as with an automated software KVM.
Apple strongly suggests users not install betas on “mission-critical” as well as the primary device since there’s the possibility of data loss or other problems. Instead, users should install betas on their other devices that are not essential and ensure that they have enough backups of the important data prior to installing the update.
